A temporary residence permit may be applied for if there are circumstances justifying residence on the territory of the Republic of Poland for a period longer than 3 months, with the exception of a temporary residence permit granted due to circumstances requiring a short-term stay and due to seasonal work.

A temporary residence permit is generally granted for a maximum of 3 years.

In proceedings to grant or revoke a temporary residence permit, only the foreigner is a party to the proceedings, with the exception of proceedings to grant or revoke a temporary residence permit for the purpose of intra-corporate transfer and a temporary residence permit for the purpose of long-term mobility of a managerial employee, specialist or trainee employee in the framework of an intra-corporate transfer.
